Over 40 people gathered on the Little Commons Sunday evening, August 13 to show their solidarity with Charlottesville, VA. Many LC Dems were in attendance. Thank you to the Sakonnet Times for picking up the story!

The event was organized by Gail, and the banner was courtesy of Jana and Peter. Steve spoke movingly about Heather Heyer, and Glenn read from the Book of Qualities. Jana spoke about white people's responsibility to take on racism, Ellen spoke about the importance of hope and faith. Peter spoke on the power of love to build peace. Sarah lead us in song. 12 year old Magee reminded us to recognize our privileges as we continue to fight for equality. Thank you to Isabel for the information and photos.
